Department of Architecture
Architecture perhaps is the oldest form of art man has known and practiced. Architecture is a skill or art of designing buildings and structures that serve a purpose. The creative union between form and function is inescapable in architecture and an architect has to balance these two with definiteness. For this reason alone, the study of architecture as exiting career as it is satisfying. Architecture course is excellence in imparting Architectural education training for changing socio cultural aspiration, environmental compulsions, material & technology, experienced architects are teaching in faculty to acquaint the students practical problems and latest developments in concerned field. The department has full fledged Studios seminar hall, material museum and accessories. Department library is also provided with all the latest books.
The Department of Architecture was established in the year 1991, under the Civil Engg. Dept. In 1992, it was moved to First floor above the Civil Engg. Dept. The founder H.O.D. was Prof. S.S. Manawade, who was also incharge of Civil Engg. Dept. Subsequently Prof. B.D. Kudalkar took over the charge from 1993 – 1994 and headed the Department till 2000. Later in the year 2000 , I took the charge of the department .
The department has trained students from various parts of India. A total of 325 students have been graduated from this Dept. About 50% of them are in abroad for further studies and jobs. Around 10 students have bagged Karnataka University our ranks during 1992 to 2000.
