The Department of Industrial & Production Engineering offers B.E program in affiliation to Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum. The department was established in the year 1986 with an intake of 30 students with an AICTE approval reference No: 41/3-111 / RC (MB)/93/16239, dated 02-02-1994. Since its inception in the year 1986 the department strives to graduate industrial and production engineers of highest quality. The department ensures the availability of high quality and relevant engineering education to all aspirants as per the curriculum of the university. The department dedicates itself to providing students with a set of skills, knowledge and attitudes that will permit its graduates to succeed and thrive as engineers. The programme prepares its graduates to pursue life-long learning, serve the profession and meet intellectual, ethical and career challenges.
The world is fast changing, the world of Technology even more so. Clearly the need of the hour is technocrats possessing, leadership qualities with a global perspective on technological, economic & cultural interfaces with business.
Industrial & Production Engineering caters to the needs of today’s world. It covers areas such as Fluid Mechanics, Control Engineering, Mechatronics, Control Engineering, Mechatronics, Thermal Sciences, Material Sciences, Human Factors, Industrial Engineering, Robotics and CAD/CAM, etc.
The department has a strong set up of laboratories and workshops of the institute. The graphics facility is also very seasoned. The teaching faculty of the department is rich in industry and teaching experience. They impart a rich blend of hands-on and theoretical knowledge to the students. The department faculty also collaborates with researchers at different University. The department does have an excellent library facility.
The success rate of students in university exams is excellent, majority of times it is 100%. The department is planning to set up recognized research centre under VTU, Belgaum, in the forhcoming Year.
The department placement record is very good with students placed in various companies like TATA, SISCO, TECH MAHINDRA, TYCHO ELECTRONICS, L&T, HAL, HMT etc
