About the Department

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become an integral part of technology in our daily lives. Driving to the office, searching for a restaurant, getting news updates, and recommendations on social media are all using AI. With the increase in usage, there is a significant requirement for researchers who can understand AI and build AI technologies.

BLDEA’s V. P. Dr. P. G. Halakatti College of Engineering and Technology, Vijayapur, offers a new four-year undergraduate programme in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning(AI & ML) with an intake of 60 students. It is an excellent opportunity for the students to pursue their careers in a new and exciting field and to become proficient in the challenging area of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. We aim to provide rigorous and excellent education through highly qualified faculty members and state-of-the-art infrastructure.

The objectives of the program are to make students well-versed in fundamental topics of AI & ML, to explore the limits of AI & ML, to teach the ability to analyze and model a variety of problems using comprehensive mathematical/computational and AI concepts, to instil the skills to design and implement methods and data structure for solving new problems efficiently.

AI & ML programme is a blend of a carefully designed curriculum delivered through innovative teaching-learning methods. It involves an internship programme to give students first-hand experience of industry ambience, backed up with a final year project and many mini projects. In time, it makes students competent, skilled and unique in their chosen field. The scope of jobs for a person professional in AI & ML is humongous and endless. Some careers to choose from are: Data scientist, Machine learning engineer, Research scientist, Business intelligence developer, full stack developer, Software Architect etc.
