INTEL INDIA STEM SKILL

"BLDEA’s Vachana Pitamaha Dr. P.G.Halakatti College of Engineering & Technology, Vijayapur, organized a training program on “Intel India STEM Skills program for Women” in association with Intel and Learning Links Foundation Bengaluru on 07.12.2024. The training program aims to empower girl students with soft skills and basic foundations of VLSI to cater the needs of industry. More than 200 girl students have participated in the program.

The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering and Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering jointly organized the program.

Mr. Sachin Patil and Ms. Poornima Badiger, Senior consultant of Intel & learning links foundation gave the training to the students."

Self Defence Workshop for Girls/women

Women Empowerment Cell of BLDEA'S V P Dr P G Halakatti College of engineering and technology, Vijayapur, organized a workshop on 26th Feb 2024, Monday, on "Self Defense for Girls/Women".

The workshop was carried out by team of OBAVVA PADE of Police Department, Vijayapur. The representatives of OBAVVA PADE, Smt Jayanti Nayak and Smt Sangeeta of Police Department, Vijayapur, demonstrated various poses and actions to defend one selves if attacked by unknown persons in remote areas. Both of them provided awareness about various situations that can make girls trapped in problems. Also they trained the girls to rescue themselves from unexpected attacks.

Vice-Principal of the institute, Dr. Geetanjali V. Patil presided over the workshop and addressed the gathering about the importance of empowering the girls. She called upon the girls to become more vigilant and not fall as prey by getting diverted to various attractions.

The Women Empowerment Cell Coordinator Dr. Jayalaxmi S. Gonal, in her welcome speech insisted the girls to share live-location and vehicle numbers whenever they travel to remote places.

Prof. Shruti Pant, member of the Women Empowerment Cell, proposed the Vote of Thanks.

About 65 participants including girls and women faculty members participated in the workshop. In the feedback most of the participants expressed that the workshop is very useful and it has provided many tips to face unexpected attacks.

A guest lecture on "opportunities in space technology " was organized by the department of electronics and communication on 30/09/2023. Resource person Mrs. Jyothi Sulakhe is a proud alumna of the department of electronics and communication, presently working as a senior scientist in ISRO, Bengaluru. Recent trends, technologies, opportunities were discussed with the students and staff.
