R&D Policies

INTRODUCTION

The status of an educational institution is heavily influenced by its research productivity and capacity for innovation. The achievement of institutional goals is significantly linked to the active involvement of faculty members in various research initiatives planned by BLDEACET. This research policy aims to support and guide our faculty members, researchers, and students in achieving excellence and making valuable contributions to the BLDE Association and the wider society.

OBJECTIVES

i) Promoting research, innovation, and the development of intellectual capital.

ii) Ensuring integrity, quality, and ethics in research practices.

iii) Integrating teaching and research through translational and instructional research.

iv) Encouraging the creation and dissemination of intellectual capital through incentives.

RESEARCH PROMOTION

At the BLDE Association, we strongly believe in the autonomy of researchers to choose their research subjects, seek financial support from external funding agencies, and report their findings and conclusions. However, research proposals, results, and reports are subject to scrutiny by the authorities of the BLDE Association and peer reviewers. The faculty and researchers are expected to adhere to established professional ethics, ensuring the well-being, safety, privacy, and rights of human subjects and the ethical treatment of animals.

Creating a conducive environment for research activities is a priority at BLDEACET. While the allocation of space, facilities, partial funding, and resources for research programs is based on the merit of proposals, the institution also provides opportunities for the professional development of faculty and researchers. This includes support in writing research proposals for funding, guidance on reports, publications, patent filings, and other avenues of disseminating research outcomes.

INTERNAL RESEARCH PROJECTS (IRP)

To foster a culture of research among young faculty members, financial assistance will be provided in accordance with HR policies. This support aims to encourage and enable faculty members to conduct research and contribute to the institution's academic and intellectual growth.

EXTERNALLY FUNDED RESEARCH PROJECTS

Faculty members are encouraged to submit research project proposals, which will be thoroughly reviewed and approved by the research committee. These proposals will be submitted to various funding agencies such as VGST, AICTE, VTU, SERB, DRDO, etc.

Incentives will be provided to faculty members based on the merit of their successful efforts in securing research grants from external funding agencies. Cash advances will be disbursed in the name of the Principal Investigator (PI) or Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI) of the project.

All project expenditures are expected to be incurred within the proposed date of completion. Any exceptions to this timeline should be duly approved by the respective granting authority.
